It happened just before 10.30am on Sunday, May 14, in the town of Babylon.
A 2013 custom assembled convertible was traveling eastbound on Ocean Parkway near Cedar Beach when the vehicle left the lane and struck the guide wire.
Smithtown driver Daniel Fabrizio, 58, and Smithtown passenger Diane Seghposs, 58, both died at the scene of their injuries.
The New York State Police Criminal Investigative Unit (BCI), Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) and Forensic Identification Unit (FIU) responded to the scene
