The incident happened on Wednesday, May 10 at around 2:17 p.m., according to Nassau County Police.

A woman was stopped by a driver while traveling west with a passenger on Zeckendorf Boulevard near the Loop, prompting her to honk her horn.

While he wasn’t the one being honked, police said Waqar Ahmed, 27, began acting aggressive in his white Ford F-150, including repeatedly cutting the victim until she had to pull over at an angle , worried that she would be driven off the road.

When they were stopped, Ahmed pointed what the victims thought was a weapon; in fear, they called 911.

Ahmed was arrested safely shortly after. He is accused of:

  • Level 2 Menacing
  • bypassing the interlock
  • Level 2 aggravated unlicensed operation

He was released on a court appearance ticket, police said.
