A spokesman for the agency confirmed to the Voice of the Day that Suffolk police officers were shot at a residence in Colum, near Norfleet Lane, at around 12.50pm on Thursday, May 11. Homestead Avenue.

The unidentified police officer was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment. A hospital spokesman declined to comment on the officer’s condition.

Police did not elaborate on the nature of the officer’s injuries, but according to police radio broadcasts, they were shot in the arms and legs.

It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting or if a suspect has been arrested.

A suspect is believed to have been taken into custody, according to police radio communications.

No other injuries were reported.
