The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said the seatpost assembly of Peloton’s model PL01 bike could break during use, posing a fall and injury hazard to the user.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bikes and contact Peloton for free repairs. Peloton offers free seatposts that consumers can install themselves.

Measuring 4 feet long and 2 feet wide, the bike has an adjustable seat, handlebars, and screen that can be tilted up and down to accommodate different heights.

The Peloton name and model number are displayed on the inside of the fork near the cassette.

The CPSC said Peloton has received 35 reports of seatposts breaking and falling off bikes during use, including 13 reports of injuries including broken wrists, lacerations and injuries caused by falls from bikes. bruises.

The bikes will be available for about $1,400 at Peloton and Dick’s Sporting Goods stores nationwide and online at Onepeloton.com, Amazon.com and Dicksportinggoods.com from January 2018 through May 2023.
