The body of James Jaronczyk was found Thursday morning.

The body of James Jaronczyk, who went missing when he ejected from his boat in the Great South Bay on Sunday, has been found, multiple sources have confirmed.

The 28-year-old Massapequa man went overboard when his boat hit surf on Sunday night. searcher The area has been searched all week, including the Coast Guard and volunteers.

Suffolk Police did not verify the information when queried by email, but responded with a statement.

“On May 11 at approximately 6:45 am, a body was found in Great South Bay near Babylon,” they said in an email to LongIsland.com. “Appraisal pending.”

Mayor Mary Adams from Babylon Village comfirmed Sad news on Facebook.

“Family and friends have gathered for missing boater James Jaronczyk after Suffolk Underwater Marine Rescue found missing boater James Jaronczyk earlier this morning, as James died in a boat on Sunday 7th May 2023. They have been together for the past 4 days since disappearing in the accident,” Adams wrote.

She said Jaronczyk was found where rescue teams and divers were concentrating, just west of the village pool.

“James…may you rest in peace and always shine your love and strength on your family,” she added.

On social media, people flock to Jaronczyk’s Instagram account show respect.
