In honor of Memorial Day, US Air Force Museum Vintage Military Aircraft Continues Annual Democratic Warbird Arsenal Event on Friday, May 26 with Aerial Demonstrationsdayand over Jones Beach on Saturday, May 27day and Sunday, May 28day. AAM’s fighter jets include B-25 Mitchell bombers, Douglas C-47 light rail troop transports, Grumman TBM Avenger torpedo bombers, North American P-51D Mustang fighter jets and two AT-6 Texas trainers. In line with other military commitments, three visiting Navy EA-18G Growlers will again be parked on the AAM’s ramp.


If you can’t make it to Jones Beach, watch these amazing planes take off all day Friday 26th May for practice flyovers over Republic Airportday. Get up close and personal with these historic bombers and fighter jets of yesteryear!Then join us on AAM for more aerial action on Saturday, May 27day and Sunday, May 28day, when they take off for an air show! Also fly daily in AAM’s AT-6 Texans and red WACO biplanes! Parking is free in AAM’s car parks or along new highways. Food and ice cream trucks will be available on site. AAM is also open on Mondays, Memorial Day and closes at 4:00 pm


According to AAM President Jeff Clyman, the three-day extravaganza has two goals. “In honor of the men and women of the ‘Greatest Generation’ who built, maintained and flew the iconic warplanes of yesteryear, and boldly stood up for freedom during World War II, as well as the active duty servicemen, reservists and National Guard, who continued that mission until Today.” Kleiman said the public support strengthens AAM’s mission of educating the next generation about U.S. military aviation history and also helps maintain the museum’s iconic aircraft. “Help them keep flying,” he added.


As a special promotion, every paying museum visitor (age 18 and over) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday is entitled to win a “Made in the USA” Cockpit USA leather bomber jacket. US Air Force Museum Sponsor Cockpit USA is the official supplier of the US Air Force A-2 Leather Flight Jacket!


Open all three days from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, no tickets or pre-registration required. General admission is $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and veterans, and $12 for children ages 5-12.
