The incident occurred on Sunday, May 7 just after 4:30 pm.
Suffolk Police said the 28-year-old Massapequa man fell alone on board a 22-foot Progression speedboat in the Great South Sound at around 4.30pm on Sunday, May 7.
Officers from the Suffolk County Police Maritime Service are conducting the search with the assistance of the Aviation Section, the U.S. Coast Guard and the local fire department.
Police are yet to identify the man pending notification of next of kin.
