According to the Family Destination Guide, East Hampton’s Amsterdam Beach State Park was ranked 19th out of 100 beach destinations most families want to visit this summer.
Family Destinations Guide polled 3,000 American families to compile its “100 Best Secret Beaches” list, which includes just two other New York beaches.
Amsterdam Beach State Park, or Amsterdam Beach Reserve, covers nearly 200 acres of undeveloped land just east of Montauk.
With its natural shoreline and stunning water views, the park offers a 2.6-mile loop hiking trail (rated “easy” by AllTrails) to the cliffs, making it a great place to spend the day with the family.
If planning to visit the Amsterdam Beach Reserve, be aware that there are no facilities here – visitors need to bring their own food, water and lice spray.
