Huntington’s own Matt “SteamRolla” Frevola has a spot in the lightweight rankings following his recent victory at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey

Frevola put on a stunning performance at UFC 288 on Saturday night, knocking out Drew Dobell with a powerful first-round right hook that gave Frevola the best of his career. First TKO victory. Dobell, who was ranked 14th at the time, has not experienced a TKO loss until now.

With this win, Frevola is now on a three-game winning streak and he wasted no time. In his post-match interview with Joe Rogan, Frevola praised rising UFC star Paddy Pinblett, saying: “On my best day, I can beat anybody in the world. I really believe that.”

Frevola is part of the Longo and Weidman Mixed Martial Arts gym, a team that has produced three UFC champions, including current champion Aljamain Sterling, who is fighting former double-champion Henry Cejduo on the same card. The team also produced champions Matt Serra and Chris Weidman.

Frevola’s impressive win will undoubtedly earn him a place in the lightweight rankings, boosting his status as a rising star at lightweight.
