Drivers traveling during the closure are encouraged to use the Wantagh State Parkway in Hempstead as an alternate route.
According to the Department of Transport, from Monday 8 May until Friday 12 May, weather permitting, Meadowbrook will operate between the Loop Parkway (M10 exit) and Bay Parkway from 9pm to 9pm in both directions, weather permitting. Closes at 5am.
The closure is planned to facilitate the ongoing bridge restoration project.
Traffic officials are urging drivers to plan accordingly, noting that speeding tickets in work zones double the fines.
