Lancaster Foods is announcing a recall of Robinson Fresh, Lancaster and Giant brand kale, spinach and Collard Green products produced at the company’s Jessup, Maryland facility and shipped through New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania Retailer and Distributor Distribution, Maryland and Virginia.

The recall was notified that a random sample of a bag of shredded kale products collected by the New York Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Safety with a “best before May 1, 2023” date tested positive for the pathogen Listeria started after. US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said.

The recalled products are past their “best by” dates.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the frail or elderly, and others with weakened immune systems.

Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.

Consumers with these symptoms should consult their healthcare provider immediately.
