While the San Antonio Spurs have been watching this year’s NBA playoffs, head coach Gregg Popovich has been adding to his real estate portfolio.
The five-time champion paid an undisclosed amount for the 15,000-square-foot two-story attic On the city’s South Side, the San Antonio Express-News Report. The store does not report the seller’s address or name.
Listing agent Michael Reisor of Douglas Elliman represented the seller in the transaction, and Katie Tottenham of Kuper Sotheby’s represented Popovich.
Combined units on the fifth and sixth floors are listed for $7.25 million in 2021. The fifth-floor unit has an assessed value of $1.91 million, while the sixth-floor unit has an assessed value of $1.85 million, the store said. Popovich previously bought the fourth-floor unit from Chicks singer-songwriter Emily Strayer in 2015, meaning he now owns the building’s first three floors.
The space includes six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, three half bathrooms, and a private elevator. Outside, there’s a 7,500-square-foot deck and a private jet swim spa.
“This penthouse is really special,” Reisor told the outlet. “The seller is a collector and gallerist who cares deeply about this property and is moving on to his next chapter.”
