The house on Surfside Drive in Bridgehampton isn’t even built yet, but it’s already one of the most expensive listings in the East End.

Spec home at 165 Surfside Drive hits the market for $80 million, behind hedges Report. The property is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

The Farrell Companies are building the house and designing the interiors, while Will Minnear Architect is designing the structure of the house. It sits on a 1.5 acre lot with 125 feet of Atlantic frontage.

The 8,600-square-foot home has eight bedrooms and eight-and-a-half bathrooms. Most of the living space will be open-plan, with a floating staircase that will take residents up to the second floor.

The rooftop will feature a 4,500-square-foot terrace with a putting green, bar, dining area and micro spa. There are plans for an attached six-car garage, a heated gunite pool and oceanfront spa, and a private boardwalk to the beach.

While that’s a hefty price tag for a home that’s still under construction, it’s not uncommon for such properties to be listed for sale before construction is complete. One reason is to allow buyers to make changes or customizations. It also enables developers to repay project loans more quickly, which accrue interest as large properties linger on the market. Some may take years to sell.
