According to the Suffolk County Police Department, William Thomas, 24, was walking northbound on the roadway of Park Avenue in Greenlawn around 5 a.m. on Thursday, May 4.

Thomas, a Huntington resident, was near Hofstra Avenue when a car hit him and drove away.

Greenlawn Rescue Team reportedly took him to Huntington Hospital for serious injuries.

Officials are asking anyone with information about the crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

Crime Stoppers can be called anonymously.
