The XFL seems to be just what the doctor ordered for Jack Coan.

After an up-and-down spring season as the starting quarterback for the San Antonio Bramas, the standout Sewell was invited to the New York Jets this weekend, according to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson. The team’s rookie minicamp, and was invited to Seattle’s rookie camp next weekend.

After a tough start for the Brahmas, Coan finished strong, passing 25 of 31 for a season-best 302 yards while leading San Antonio to a 25-23 home win on April 15, giving the team Keep the playoff hopes alive. A week later, he completed 34 of 48 passes for 312 yards in the Spurs’ 29-28 loss to the DC Defenders in the final week of the season.

San Antonio, coached by Pittsburgh Steelers legend Hines Ward, finished 3-7 and missed the playoffs. Cohen went 2-5 as a starter and finished the season with 1,403 passing yards, six touchdowns and six interceptions. He also carried 26 times for 108 yards.

Cohen’s career began in May 2022 when he signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent, but was cut at the end of preseason training camp in August.

Cohen joins the Brahmas after being selected in the 2023 XFL Draft in November. Meanwhile, during the fall, he had brief NFL tryouts from Las Vegas, Miami and Seattle.

Cohen was impressive in college, playing three seasons at Wisconsin and then his final season at Notre Dame in 2021.
