US News & World Report released its annual Best States rankings on Tuesday, May 2, and New York came in – applause – 20th.

Ranking is based on statistics In several categories, including the economy, crime, healthcare, infrastructure and education.

A total of 48.8 percent of New Yorkers are college-educated, the report said.

New York’s median income is $43,462 and its gross domestic product (GDP) is just over $2 billion.

Utah is the No. 1 state in the ranking. Louisiana ranked 50th.
