Riverhead Township Police were alerted around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 30 to reports of a vehicle believed to have been stolen from Nassau County being driven into Riverhead.
Nearly 10 minutes later, patrols spotted the 2006 Dodge Charger parked on Route 58 near Mill Road, according to police.
Police arrested the driver, Bhajenauth Ramsaroop, from Jamaica, Queens, without incident, on charges including:
- Third Degree Illegal Possession of Stolen Property (Felony)
- Second degree obstruction of government administration (misdemeanor)
- Many vehicles and traffic violations
Ramsaroop is expected to be arraigned at Riverhead Justice Court on Monday, May 1.
