After a string of East Coast expansion announcements, Ryan Serhant slyly suggested Chicago might be next.
The New York real estate broker and his eponymous firm appear to be hatching ideas for a Chicago expansion — at least on the broker’s Instagram account.
“Should Serhant come to Chicago?” read the headline of a post earlier this week. The video is of Serhant, seemingly in Chicago, meeting a fan and asking if the agent should open an office in the Windy City.
The move comes as Serhant pushes ahead with expansion across the East Coast, and face lawsuit Excessive poaching of proxies.
In March, brokerage Expansion to six new markets Along the East Coast: Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
Serhant added 49 agents to three Florida offices — two in Miami and one in Palm Beach County — and one in each of the other markets. When announcing these expansions, Serhant made it clear that there are more to come.
Serhant does not appear to have taken any formal action in Chicago and did not respond to a request for comment. A search of all LLCs and corporations in Illinois has not turned up any businesses bearing his name, and he does not appear to have a valid real estate license in the state.
Serhant, who became a household name on Bravo’s TV show “Million Dollar Listing: New York” and his own spinoff “Sell Like Serhant,” launched his brokerage business in New York in 2020.

Serhant is fourth real deal 2021 Top Agent and Team Rankings in New York. He closed 90 deals with total sales of $338 million. He is also the number one resale broker in New York with $305.6 million in total sales.
