The incident happened in Levittown just before midnight on Thursday, April 27.
According to police, the victim, a man in his 60s, was crossing the Hempstead Turnpike, heading north near Jerusalem Avenue.
A 32-year-old man was driving a 2013 Nissan Altima heading west on the Hempstead Turnpike when he was crossing the road.
Authorities reported that the man suffered serious head and chest injuries and was taken to a local hospital in a serious condition.
No other injuries were reported.
Investigation is ongoing.
