Since posting his query on Long Island Restaurant Group facebook page On Monday, April 24, more than 100 people responded with suggestions on where Rutherford could find his perfect pie.

Of these responses, Eddie’s Pizza at 2048 Hillside Avenue, New Hyde Park was the clear winner with over 20 recommendations and 85 reactions.

“The best,” wrote one reviewer.

“Definitely Eddie’s,” wrote another.

In business since 1941, Eddie’s bills itself as the birthplace of “bar pie,” as described on its website website As “the perfect size to eat, with room to drink a beer!”

A 10-inch Eddie’s Personal Pizza cuts 270 calories.

The menu features a range of toppings to choose from, including sausage, mushrooms, peppers, meatballs and shredded chicken chops.

Diners can also choose from several soups, salads and pastas.

Among the hundreds of positive reviews on its Yelp page, several specifically mention its thin casing.

“Salads are great, as are eggplant parm and thin-crust pizza,” Noel G. from Virginia said in cry“If you want a different thin crust pizza, this is the place!”

“Most amazing and best thin crust pizza!” says Kristine M. of Manhasset on Yelp. “It melts in the mouth, the crispy skin can’t be copied, only Eddie’s exclusive!”

Eddie’s Pizza is open Thursday through Tuesday from 11am to 10pm, closed on Wednesday.Learn more about it website.
