Suffolk Police said the incidents happened on three separate dates in April at Shirley Beach and Mastic Beach.

Blaise Marckesano, 38, of Shirley was arrested on Wednesday, April 26 following an investigation into the crime, which began on Saturday, April 1, police said.

On April 1, Marckesano used force to injure an employee at the Parkway Deli & Grocery at 431 William Floyd Parkway in Shirley and stole beer, Suffolk County police said.

The employee went to a doctor for treatment, but his life was not life-threatening.

The next incident occurred on Thursday, April 13, when Marckesano entered the American Legion Hall, Post 1533, located at 110 Mustique Beach Drive in Mustique Beach, and stole cash, police said.

He returned to the business again on Tuesday, April 25, broke windows and stole cash, they added.

The last incident occurred on Friday, April 21, when Marckesano entered a Home Depot located at 399 William Floyd Boulevard in Shirley and stole various merchandise overnight, police said.

Marckesano was located by detectives from the Seventh Squad on William Floyd Parkway. He was arrested without incident and charged with:

  • robbery
  • three counts of theft
  • Two counts of criminal mischief

He was held overnight at Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to appear at First Local Court, Central Islip, on Thursday, April 27.
