Glenn Seejattan, 30, from Rocky Point, was sentenced to 25 years to life imprisonment at Suffolk County Court on Wednesday 26 April.

He was previously convicted by a jury of second-degree murder in March 2023 for the January 2022 killing of Centereach’s Justin Lee.

On Jan. 28, 2022, 10 days after relatives reported him missing, Lee’s half-naked, frozen body was found in a wooded area west of Brookhaven Avenue near the North Shore Rail Trail at Rocky Point.

The location is about a mile from Seejattan’s home, according to Suffolk Police.

An autopsy determined he had been shot, once in the head and once in the thigh.

At a subsequent trial, a witness testified that Seejattan admitted to shooting and killing someone at his Mahogany Road home, according to prosecutors. He described the murder as “a failed drug deal”.

Seejattan also admitted that he shot the victims in the head before removing their clothes and wrapping them in a blanket before leaving them in the woods.

Witnesses testified that Seejattan said he did not regret committing the murder but “regretted doing it in the house.”

Investigators were able to link Seejattan to the murders after they found Lee’s DNA on the wall of his home, according to prosecutors. They also found damaged wood moldings near Lee’s body that physically matched the damage found in the same home.

In addition to the murder charge, the jury also found Seejattan guilty of second-degree possession of a weapon.

“This sentence is the price the defendant must pay for taking the life of another,” Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney said in a statement.

“This outcome provides a modicum of justice for the victim and his family, even though this defendant will serve time in prison and the victim will never see his family and loved ones again.”

According to prosecutors, Seejattan committed the murder while out on bail and was indicted on another felony weapons charge.
