Shirley resident Blaise Marckesano, 38, was arrested by Suffolk County Police on Wednesday, April 26 for alleged robbery and theft of a series of businesses in the Shirley area, the department announced.

The first incident, a robbery, occurred on Saturday 1 April.

Authorities said Marckesano entered the Parkway Deli & Grocery (located at 431 William Floyd Parkway) around 9:30 p.m.

He reportedly used force and injured an employee before stealing beer from the deli and leaving. The employee’s life was not in danger.

On two separate dates in April, Marckesano also reportedly burglarized the American Legion Hall Post 1533, a veterans charity at 110 Mastic Beach Road.

In one of the incidents, Marckesano broke a window in the building and both times stole cash from the company.

Additionally, Marckesano is charged with stealing merchandise from 399 William Floyd Parkway Home Depot on the night of Friday, April 21.

Suffolk Police reported that following inquiries Marckesano was located and arrested without incident.

Marckesano was charged with the following offences:

  • second degree robbery
  • Third degree burglary (three counts)
  • Fourth degree criminal mischief (two counts)

He is scheduled to appear in First District Court on Thursday, April 27.

Authorities said the investigation will continue.
