Homes were damaged, but no injuries were reported.


The Triville Fire Department received a call about a vehicle fire at a residence at Port Jefferson Station around 6:30 a.m. Saturday.


When firefighters arrived on scene, they found two vehicles on fire. The fire spread to a third vehicle and a large propane tank on the property.


Fortunately, firefighters were able to get everything under control.


“All fires were extinguished and no injuries were reported,” Triville Fire Service said. Report.


Two adjacent houses were also damaged from overheating. None of the cars were electric, the fire department said. There were no reports of the cause of the fire.


Suffolk County Police said detectives from the Arson Branch were investigating a fire at a Van Buren Street residence at Port Jefferson Station.


The Port Jefferson Fire Department also responded, offering assistance.
