Brookhaven Township Expressway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilman Neil Foley announced the completion of the Medford 17 road paving project.
Crews completed concrete improvements, inspected and installed new gutters, and repaired and replaced damaged concrete curbs, sidewalks and apron before paving.
Roads resurfaced during this paving project include Elmhurst Avenue, Fordham Avenue, Glendale Avenue, Holland Avenue, Inwood Avenue, Jamaica Avenue, Mount Vernon Avenue, Newburgh Avenue, Oswego Avenue, Peconic Avenue, Peekskill Avenue, Railroad Avenue, Richmond Avenue, Syracuse Avenue, Tremont Avenue, Wessel Lane, and Yonkers Avenue.
The total cost of the paving project was approximately $1 million.
Superintendent Los Quadro said, “Jamaica Avenue and Peconic Avenue are major arterial roads with heavy traffic in the Town of Brookhaven. These roads, along with the 15 other roads that were resurfaced as part of this paving project, are now safer and smoother for everyone who travels on these roads.”
Councilor Foley said, “I thank Sheriff Los Quadro and the Highway Department crew for their work in upgrading infrastructure throughout the Town of Brookhaven. Safety is our top concern and residents can rest assured that the Town will continue to make the improvements it needs.”
