The incident happened at around 12.45pm on Thursday, July 20, in Holtsville.
Suffolk County police said a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 61-year-old man was traveling westbound between Exits 62 and 63 on the Long Island Freeway when it collided head-on with a 2005 Acura.
A physician assistant at the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office announced the Silverado driver, Thomas Raimondo, 61, of Holbrook, and the Acura driver, Jose Ferreira, 32, of West Babylon.
There were no other passengers in either vehicle.
