The New York State Department of Transportation has announced a series of highway maintenance projects in the town of Oyster Bay during the week of July 17. Affected highways include the LIE, Jericho Turnpike and the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway.
Weather permitting, the following locations will be closed Monday, July 17 and Wednesday, July 19 from 10pm to 5am:
- On the LIE, exit 44 westbound, exit 44S eastbound (Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway exit);
- On the eastbound Jericho Turnpike, the southbound ramp on the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway will be closed; and
- Located on the southbound Seaford-Oyster Bay Freeway, two lanes between the Jericho Turnpike and Northern State Parkway.
Encouraging drivers to drive responsibly, the New York State Department of Transportation reminded motorists that any speeding fines in work zones will be doubled.
