Steven Marksberry, 50, of Lake Grove, was arraigned in Suffolk County Court on Thursday 6 July on the 119-count indictment.

According to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, Suffolk County police learned that Maxbury had uploaded child pornography to his iCloud storage account.

According to reports, a search of his phone and iCloud account turned up dozens of photos showing girls aged 4 to 12 being sexually abused.

“Not only is this defendant accused of having extensive child sexual abuse material on his phone, but he allegedly did so while serving as a sworn police officer. No one is above the law,” said Suffolk County District Attorney Ray said Mond Tierney.

Maxbury was arraigned in court on Thursday on charges of:

  • 50 counts of promoting child sexual activity (felony)
  • 69 counts of possession of child sexual activity (felony)

He was ordered to be held on $100,000 cash bail or $250,000 bail.

If convicted, he could have been sentenced to up to 20 years in prison.

Marksberry has been with the department since July 2008 and has been with the 52nd Precinct since January 2011.

He has been suspended without pay while the case is pending, an NYPD spokesperson told The Daily Voice.
