Authorities conducted the operation from 11:40 p.m. Friday, June 30 to 2:30 a.m. Saturday, July 1 at the Port Jefferson Station on the corner of Route 112 at Harlock Avenue.
Suffolk County Police said 414 vehicles passed through the checkpoint.
The following persons were charged with DUI:
- Gabrielle Brewer, 30, of Corum;
- Jariel Felix-Benitez, 30, of Farmingdale;
- Matute Monjoya, 41, of Mount Sinai.
The checkpoint is part of an ongoing enforcement crackdown on drink and drug driving.
The three charged will appear at Central Islip 1 Local Court on Saturday.
This joint operation was carried out by:
- Suffolk County Police Department Highway Patrol,
- New York State Police,
- Suffolk County Sheriff’s Deputy.
