A 23-year-old man has died from severe head trauma after falling from the roof of a commercial building in Glen Cove, prompting an investigation into safety procedures and equipment.
On Friday 14th April 2023 a tragic accident occurred when a 23 year old man fell from the roof of a commercial building at 40 Gavez Point Road, Glen Cove. The victim, who has not been identified, sustained serious head injuries and was airlifted by Nassau County Police helicopter to a local hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced dead by hospital doctors.
Glen Cove Police were called to the scene after receiving a call that a man had collapsed. When they arrived, they found the victim lying on the ground. It is believed that the victim was working on the roof at the time of the incident, but the circumstances of the fall are still under investigation.
The Homicide Squad has taken over the investigation, which is still ongoing. Detectives are working to determine whether any factors contributed to the crash.
